Private Sector Transportation Representative
Board Position
The Washington State Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) is seeking a qualified person to fill a board position representing private sector transportation. The term of this position would begin immediately and expire on June 30, 2028, with eligibility for an additional four-year term. Qualifications for the private sector representative include a citizen with business, management, and transportation related experience and is active in a business community-based transportation organization.
Board Mission
TIB is a state agency directed by a 21-member board made up of city, county, state, port, transit, special needs, non-motorized, and private sector representatives. The primary purpose of the TIB is to award approximately $110 million annually in city and county grant funding for local transportation projects. The TIB also administers the Complete Streets Program, which is projected to be over $30 million in grant awards in the 2023-2025 Biennium. The board meets five times per year at various locations throughout the state. Members receive reimbursement for travel expenses.
