Project Description

This project constructs two travel lanes, a two-way left-turn lane, bike lane, planter strip, curb, gutter and sidewalk along the west side of Witte Road between SE 240th Street and SR 169. In addition, the project installs LED streetlights and adds an enhanced LID stormwater system.

Existing Condition

Witte Road is a busy two-lane arterial with an average daily traffic of 16,500 vehicles. The pavement is in poor condition and there are no pedestrian or bicycle facilities and no streetlights. The slope along the west side is failing due to erosion from a stormwater outfall and the 1960's storm drainage system is failing.
