Project Description
The City’s plan to build the Duportail Bridge is firming up with each passing month. The Bridge will be the final segment in the Duportail / Stevens Corridor strategy to provide improved multi-modal connectivity between central Richland and the Queensgate area. The bridge will include two vehicle travel lanes in each direction, with bicycle lanes and sidewalks on each side. Tanglewood Drive will connect Duportail Street to the residential developments to the north and the south. The intersection of Duportail Street and Tanglewood Drive will be controlled by a traffic signal. The intersection of Duportail Street and SR240 will be widened and improved, as will the at-grade railroad crossing on the Port of Benton Railroad. The project will also replace a water supply pipeline, currently located in the Yakima River, with two bridge-mounted pipelines.
