Informed Investors & Customers

TIB defines our investors as the Legislature in their capacity as representatives of the taxpayers. The taxpayers want a return on their investment and accountability for results. Our customer group is the 320 incorporated cities and urban counties within the state.

TIB provides information through the legislative committees, sets policies through board action, provides informational meetings with Senate and House Transportation members, and publishes annual reports.

We build trust of customers and stakeholders by transparency of our initiatives, reporting on results, and tracking performance progress.

Sustainable Financial Management

TIB strives to gain maximum value from the resources entrusted to us for the benefit of our customers and stakeholders. Finances are managed aggressively, but with strong control while ensuring program consistency and longevity. All managers and staff are responsible for making prudent financial decisions.

If opportunities arise to leverage funding, the agency makes calculated risks based on data to fully fund projects. Increases are controlled to ensure full funding without impairing future programs.

Strong Project Control

TIB is accountable for the success or failure of the projects we fund. The staff are aggressive in project management especially moving delayed projects to construction. Staff monitors the inventory of projects to ensure project progress and control. Staff works to remove barriers to project completion.

The staff educates customers to ensure they have the information to successfully utilize TIB programs. The TIB staff is aware of and can assist with the rules, regulations, and procedures for project submission providing guidance through every step to project completion. Staff regularly contacts customers and exceeds expectations for quality and prompt service.

Exemplary Business Practices

TIB tracks internal processes to find efficiencies and decrease turnaround times. TIB's business is constantly under internal scrutiny to find the best way to choose, fund, and track transportation initiatives through team initiatives.

TIB does not do this alone and are committed to ensuring that a balance exists between the needs of moving people and goods efficiently and the economic development opportunities that may arise due to proper infrastructure investments with the sustainability of the resources of the state.
