Existing Conditions

1st Street North within the project limits consists of two traveled lanes with paved shoulders on each side. 1st Street North serves a large industrial area in the City that receives a large amount of heavy truck traffic. Roadway conditions exhibit transverse, longitudinal and significant alligator cracking; pavement rutting, and large areas of most of the road show the need for subgrade repair.

Description of Improvements

The travel lanes, which are significantly deteriorated, will be pulverized, excavated and reconstructed per geotechnical recommendations. The subgrade will then be compacted and a new wearing course paved and matched into the existing shoulders.
