Existing ConditionsThe existing narrow and decaying sidewalks on Kansas Street Southwest put pedestrians at risk. A reconstruction that includes widening and improving the sidewalks. As the second busiest thoroughfare next to SR 162/Washington Avenue, Kansas Street SW is a primary route for log and gravel trucks. The current state of deteriorating pavement and poor subgrade material is unable to support the heavy traffic flow. The existing lighting on Kansas Street SW has been found non-conforming to local agency standards. |
