Existing ConditionsSouth Tacoma Way is a Center of Local Importance and serves as a commercial backbone linking the City of Lakewood to the City of Tacoma, Interstate 5 and State Route 512 with an ADT over 28,000. 92nd St serves as a connection to commercial business and large residential area with an ADT over 2,100. The nearest signalized intersections and marked crosswalks on South Tacoma Way are located 1,000 feet away. Ten collisions occurred within 20 feet, twenty five collisions occurred within 100 feet and sixty eight collisions occurred within 300 feet of the intersection over the last seven years |

Description of Improvements
The project will install a new traffic signal at the intersection of South Tacoma Way and 92nd St S. The project also includes a left turn lane, protected/permissive left turn movement, marked crosswalks, countdown pedestrian signals, audible pedestrian pushbuttons and ADA pedestrian ramps.
