Existing ConditionsIronwood, through the project area is a key arterial serving multiple public facilities, pedestrian traffic generators, and the Central Business District. The project will upgrade a failing road mostly with an overlay before the pavement condition requires full depth reconstruction, fill in sidewalk gaps and provide an ADA accessible route in a key area. The street as very limited stormwater facilities and the lack of drainage creates frequent areas of ponding and increases the rate pavement failure. The project provides a continuous pedestrian route between the Oroville Schools and the Oroville City Park which hosts after school practice facilities for athletic teams. The new street will hopefully spur additional economic development on the several empty parcels along the route as well as investment in current business and tourist facilities along the route. |
