The community wants safety on the road as there are complaints from residents in the area that the existing pedestrian beacons (RRTB) are not effective. Many residents noted at the City council meeting that cars do not notice the current flashing beacon.

Project Description
Upgrade the current flashing beacons with the current standards and performance requirements as this will result in brighter RRTB. The existing poles will be utilized but new signage, hardware and appurtenances will be installed. In addition it is proposed that 2 advanced warning signs will be installed at a location approximately 100-125 feet before the crosswalk at Poplar Way and 216th. This would require two new poles to be installed as well as the new signage, hardware and appurtenances.
