The City of South Bend is bisected by Highway 101. To the north of Hwy 101 are businesses, recreational/commercial docks, and a park that line the Willapa River and to the south of Hwy 101 are the residences, commercial district, municipal district, and a park that make up the remainder of the City. There is a significant amount of pedestrian traffic that crosses Hwy 101 on a routine basis.
