The north end of the City lacks pedestrian facilities to promote active non-motorized lifestyles. Alameda Avenue is a busy collector arterial street with little to no safe provisions for pedestrians or cyclist throughout the project limits. Well used non-motorized facilities exist on Emerson Street, and Alameda Avenue further north but this section of Alameda Avenue serves as gap between these non-motorized facilities and the surrounding neighborhoods.
