Project Description

This project will include road reconstruction from East 38th Street to East Gregory Street, where the subgrade has failed. The pavement from East Gregory to East Sherman, on the north side of the project, is proposed to be addressed with a grind and overlay. This project will close sidewalk gaps and construct 7-foot-wide sidewalks, curb, and gutter along both sides of the corridor. The project includes pedestrian bulbouts and accessible ramps at 6 intersections (38th, George, 37th, 36th, Gregory, and Division). Existing signal at the Division Ave intersection school crossing will be upgraded to enhance pedestrian safety with a raised pedestrian crossing and APS pushbuttons. Planting areas and street trees, along with narrower driving lanes will help enforce speed limit restrictions and create an environment that encourages active transportation options accessibly to all users.
