Existing Conditions

Oak Street is one of two entrances to the City of Okanogan from U.S. 97. As one of two major points of ingress and egress from the City, this road is a critical portion of the Citys transportation system. The pavement is beginning to show signs of distress. This project will plane and overlay the roadway, preventing the need for future reconstruction or subgrade repair in the future. This preservation project will also ensure that this critical roadway is closed for a minimal amount of time needed for restoration of the roadway surface. The City and County plan to complete future phases of work that will improve Van Duyn Ave (Rodeo Trail Rd) and establish pedestrian facilities, connecting the central business district and the bridge over Oak Street to the Central Valley Sports Complex. This project will upgrade the pedestrian facilities along Oak Street in preparation for the joint City-County project.
