Project Description

This project includes planning, design, permitting and development of Plans, Specifications and Estimate (PSE) for the improvements. The project evaluates pedestrian and bicycle facilities along US 101 and SR 109 from Emerson Elementary School on SR109 to the west end of 6th Street bridge at the intersection of US 101. Public outreach will be conducted to determine the most appropriate location for pedestrian crossings and the proposed combined-use facility location. The project will include evaluation of intersection improvements at 6th Street and US 101, roadway channelization and signing revisions, installation of pedestrian crossings and traffic islands at multiple locations, construction of curb extensions, minor storm water improvements existing traffic signal modifications and installation of a new rapid rectangular flashing beacon (RRFB) pedestrian signal.
