Pedestrian routes currently lack ADA connectivity between Pateros Memorial Park, hotel, City Hall and the rest of the business district. Memorial Park lies on both sides of Lakeshore Drive and host numerous events, such as basketball tournaments, hydroplane racing, Annual Apple Pie Jamboree, Hawk Festival, fishing tournaments, Arbor Day celebration, Salmon Bake. The park also contains horseshoe tournament pits, a swimming area, event stage, splash park, all of which generate pedestrian traffic in the project location. The width of the adjacent Lakeshore Drive also encourages speeding, which endangers the pedestrians drawn by these events and activities.
