Haven St. is an existing Principal Arterial and high traffic corridor and Spokane Transit bus route uses this street. The corridor includes numerous nearby commercial/business destinations as well as a large Spokane School District education campus approximately one block from Haven St. that includes Shaw Middle School, Newtech Skill Center, Regal Elementary School and School District offices and operations facilities. Additionally, the Spokane-Hillyard Library and Northeast Community Center is located just west of the education campus.There are no existing sidewalks along the westerly side of Haven St. for the three block stretch from Heroy Ave. to Rockwell Ave. creating a deficient condition for pedestrian access to transit stops, schools and businesses.
