Project Description

This project will construct a continuous non-motorized, shared-use, pedestrian/bicycle pathway along the east side of 91st Ave SE, between the intersections at 8th St SE and at Market Place (Figures 1 and 2). When possible, this project will link existing, disconnected sidewalks into the continuous pathway and add approximately 2,000 lineal feet of new pathway to complete the 3,300 lineal foot corridor. The project will improve safe multi-modal use and ADA-compliant accessibility through driveway ramps, crosswalk and similar striping, and new and/or improved pedestrian crossing ramps compliant with the new 2023 edition of the PROWAG. Where possible, the project will include landscaping strips within available right-of-way. This project will connect nearby neighborhoods with Hillcrest Elementary, Skyline Elementary, and Lake Stevens Middle School provide increased transit stop access and contribute to an overall goal to provide a continuous connection along 91st Ave southto 20th St SE.
