Project Description

Asphalt pathway sections along Harbour Pointe Blvd have been damaged over time by tree roots of adjacent, maturing street trees leading to accessibility and trip hazard concerns. Repair solution will include the removal of identified trees and their root systems under the path, damaged sections of asphalt will be sawcut, removed and properly disposed. Crushed surfacing top course will be added as needed to maintain current path elevation and insure ADA compliance for cross slopes prior to asphalt replacement. HMA 1/2' asphalt will be placed and compacted to provide a stable, level and smooth walking surface, restoring gaps in accessibility and eliminating trip hazards. A replanting establishment plan will replace removed trees at a ratio of 11 and will include root barrier to minimize future root intrusion damage to the pathway as newly planted trees mature. Completed asphalt path repairs will provide a safe, unobstructed walking surface for pedestrian use.
