Project Description

The project would attempt to make improvements to pedestrian mobility through improved streetlighting, median fencing to encourage crossing at interesections, and reducing speeds during school ingress and egress periods along Pacific Highway S between S 304th Street and S 308th Street via a 30 MPH advisory school speed zone. Additionally, the City will replace luminaire heads at the intersection of S 308 St and SR 99, as well as the 1st one on each side of the intersection and each side of SR 99 away from the intersection (8 total) with higher wattage LEDs to improve pedestrian visability. Red Light Indicator lights will also be installed on the signal heads at both intersections within this corridor to provide easier way for police to enforce red-light running. As soon as weather permits, the City will also refresh all crosswalk markings and stop lines at S 308 St and SR 99. There are no proposed changes to channelization so it is anticipated that WSDOT's concurrence is not required.
