Project Description

The proposed project will replace all ADA ramps in the project area, add sidewalk on the east side of S 4th Street between Clay Street and Main Street, and replace damaged sidewalk within the project limits. This project will create a safer and more accessible pedestrian route while preparing 4th Street for future street improvement projects. Construction for the sidewalks and ADA ramps will consist of concrete work, asphalt repair, landscaping, and painting crosswalk lines. Project will also complete roadway rehabilitation work using federal funds which may push construction out to 2025. City secured additional federal funding of $1.6 million and will be extending the sidewalk work limits further south to Day Street and will also be overlaying S 4th Street from Main Street to the South City Limits using those funds. Design of that additional work will be funded by this project.
