Nob Hill Boulevard is a principal arterial that serves as a main east-west corridor for drivers and pedestrian traffic to access southeastern Yakima. As a result of the heavy reliance on Nob Hill, the surface conditions have become poor and continue to deteriorate. The roadway surface contains large longitudinal and transverse cracking along with rutting and spalling throughout the corridor. Most of the existing curb ramps are non-compliant with current ADA standards and are planned to be replaced with this project.

Project Description
The proposed improvements consist of milling and overlaying the existing asphalt, crack sealing, new pavement markings, and replacement of non-ADA compliant curb ramps. Improvements include spot pavement repair areas where pavement has completely failed in isolated locations. Curb ramps that cross Nob Hill Boulevard are included in Schedule A as these are required to be replaced with the resurfacing project. Additive Schedule C includes curb ramps at intersecting streets, where curb ramps run parallel with Nob Hill Boulevard and only cross side streets. Additive Schedule B includes synthetic fibers that the City anticipates installing as a test section for comparison to traditional overlay sections.
