Project Description

This project constructs dual roundabouts and realigns the connection of River Road with Fruitvale Boulevard, south of Fruitvale Boulevard and west of 34th Avenue. The project will promote slower speeds with reduction of lane widths and the roundabout geometry. The project will improve safety by including lighting, pedestrian and bicycle facilities to increase awareness of pedestrian and bicyclist presence, reduced crossing distances for pedestrians, turning radius mitigation for Fruitvale Boulevard and River Road intersection by roundabout design, clearing of fixed objects, and better access control by adjacent properties.
