Project Description

Construct two 11-foot traffic lanes, uphill bike lane, a shared downhill bike lane, 3-foot wide shoulders, and sidewalk along the eastbound lane. Curve radii improvements at N Baker Ave, Blackstone Ct, and N Devon Ave. Install illumination along the corridor. A rebuild of the canal crossing will be completed prior to the construction phase of this project.

Existing Condition

21st St NE is an Urban Major Collector, situated between Eastmont Ave (Urban Minor Arterial) to the east and N Baker Ave (Urban Major Collector) to the west. Sidewalks are intermittent, traffic lanes have variable widths and stormwater facilities are substandard or missing throughout the corridor.
