Existing ConditionsThis project addresses efficiency, safety and resiliency at the intersection of Spurgeon Creek Road and Yelm Hwy, a high-speed intersection in Thurston County. Yelm Hwy is an urban major collector that acts as one of the main east/west connections across the County and is the main route between South Lacey and the city of Yelm. Spurgeon Creek Road is a rural major collector that connects south Thurston County to the Lacey area. |

The alternative analysis concluded that the preferred alternative for this intersection is a single lane roundabout with turn lanes. These improvements will include sidewalk, marked crosswalks with rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFBs) and enhanced lighting within the limits of the project area to improve access and accessibility for multi-modal users of this intersection.
