Existing ConditionsThe existing intersection at S. Highlands Blvd is curbed with a pathway on the north side and rural shoulders on the south side. Residential neighborhoods exist on either side of Keene Road. Traffic access and pedestrian crossings of this arterial roadway make movements difficult during peak hour flows. There are no signalized crossings of Keene between Belmont Blvd and Bombing Range Rd, a distance of 1.52 Miles. |

The proposed project would install pedestrian facilities on the south side corners with curb, gutter and ADA ramps. The signal would provide for both traffic movements and protected pedestrian crossings which would tie the south neighborhoods into the regional pathway system.
