Existing ConditionsThe City of North Bend project will extend South Fork Ave to West North Bend Way, and this will provide an arterial level connection between West North Bend Way and SR 202. The key proposes of this project are to help reduce traffic volumes at key intersections within the citys main downtown core, improve access to and from I-90 and improve roadway safety at the intersections of SR 202 North Bend Way and also at SR 202 W. 4th Street intersection. In essence this will become the citys bypass to reduce truck volume, traffic backup in the citys downtown historic district and provide pedestrian safety in downtown historic North Bend. This project will reduce traffic congestion, provide pedestrian safety and improve the air quality and reduce emissions for our community. |

This project a new roadway linking SR 202 to NB Way The solution divert trucks away from the downtown historic area onto South Fork directly and accommodate turns onto NW 8th Steet and NB Way Westbound/Northbound where turns are currently not possible and eliminating the need to go through downtown historic North Bend.
