Existing ConditionsThe north end of the City lacks pedestrian facilities to promote active non-motorized lifestyles. Alameda Avenue is a busy collector arterial street with little to no safe provisions for pedestrians or cyclist throughout the project limits. Well used non-motorized facilities exist on Emerson Street, and Alameda Avenue further north but this section of Alameda Avenue serves as gap between these non-motorized facilities and the surrounding neighborhoods. |

The project will provide curb, gutter, sidewalk, and ADA-compliant ramps and tie into existing facilities at the sound end of Cypress Point and the north end of Emerson St. The project will install pedestrian facilities to much needed area that serves people of all ages and abilities. The proposed improvements will provide safe dedicated facilities for walking and biking along this critical corridor and safe continuous and accessible route from neighborhoods along Alameda Avenue to the nearby transit stops along Emerson Street.
