Existing Conditions

The sidewalk along Saunders Road ends at the entrance of Pit Pond and there is not a bike lane in the City. Standard two lane road no shoulders. Several recreational facilities on the route. The City finalized and adopted a trail plan. The city is a rural, low income community, over 50% minority residents.

Description of Improvements

The proposed project is to construct up to 1/2 mile of an 8 foot paved, non-motorized pathway adjacent to Saunders Road and Putter Pond with parking, pull-outs landscaping, and wayfinding.
