Existing Conditions

The pavement condition of 73rd Ave NE is deteriorating. Further deterioration will lead to increasing costs to repair and potential damage to vehicles. There are several sidewalk panels that are uplifted due to tree roots and some panels that are damaged. All of these locations inhibit accessibility for both the abled and disabled community. Trip hazards effect both groups and some locations are not accessible to wheel chairs forcing them into the street. This road is one of three roads that run north/south on the north end of the City. Bicyclists use this road to connect to the park and ride at NE 181st St, downtown, Kenmore Elementary, and to the Burke Gilman Trail at state route 522.
