Existing ConditionsThe work included in this application will reconstruct Jackson Street between Magnolia Street and Juniper Street, and Juniper Street from Jackson Street to Monroe Avenue. The corridor serves four schools from preschool to highschool. Limited sidewalk facilities are available. The roadway is also in a state of deterioation beyond maintenance. Subgrade deterioration can be observed at paving joint lines due to the uneveness of the existing asphalt. Approximately 50-percent of the roadway is aligator cracked in less than 1' x 1' squares. |

Reconstruct a narrower cross section including two 12' travel lanes, 6' sidewalk on Jackson Street south frontage and Juniper Street east frontage, upgraded ADA curb ramps, 10' shared use pathway on the north side of Jackson Street, and a flashing beacon. Existing angle parking near the Jackson and Juniper intersection will be converted to parallel parking.
