Existing ConditionsThe project is needed to provide sustainable, efficient, and safe travel for people who use the Washington Boulevard corridor. The Washington and Manette Bridge intersection is signalized and currently operates at a Level of Service (LOS) E with 740 foot queues. The project segment from Pacific Avenue to the Manette Bridge does not provide safe, ADA accessible bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure that supports the City's plans for improving active transportation modes of travel. Some areas along the existing northeast side of the corridor include only a 2 foot wide sidwalk that doesn't provide ADA accessibility. There is a need to improve the long term functionality of the Washington Boulevard/Mannette Bridge intersection and a need to provide safe, ADA accessible, connected pedestrian pathways. |

The project will replace the signalized intersection of Washington Avenue and Manette Bridge with a roundabout. The project will reconstruct Washington/11th from Pacific Avenue to Manette Bridge and provide ADA accessible sidewalks, bike lanes, lighting, stormwater improvements, and other traffic calming design features.
