Existing ConditionsPioneer Avenue is the most utilized arterial in the City and a vital link for commercial traffic. The street serves the downtown business corridor. The pavement is aging and becoming deteriorated. The City is beginning to spend more time and resources on patching this section of roadway. A majority of the curb ramps and sidewalks in this corridor do not meet ADA requirements. The Storm drain inlets are the older style that are a hazard to bicycles. This project will provide an opportunity for continuation of systematic improvements to the entire Pioneer Avenue Corridor. |
