Existing ConditionsThe city is trying to increase compliance with vehicles yielding to pedestrians. The city has identified top locations of 2-lane roadways for enhanced crossing treatments using the following criteria - higher volumes (above 10,000), higher speeds (35 and 40 MPH), crash history (if any), locations on walk routes for schools, meeting crosswalk policy, or identified in an adopted plan. Several locations have been included from a 2020 systemic project list and the 2022 Local Road Safety Plan. |

Install RRFB enhnaced cross walks at 5 locations, To accelerate the delivery of the solution, this city project will use in-house forces to install five RRFB-enhanced crosswalks at the proposed locations. The RRFB installation would be added to improvements made at each site to enhance pedestrian visibility specific to the location, such as extended curb, curb bulb out, crosswalk striping or stop bars, as appropriate.
