Description of Improvements

The project will add six RRFBs enhnanced crossings. Three of the proposed crossings will require three to four beacons, as there are existing refuge islands on a four-lane road section. Two crossings will only require two beacons, as the roadway is narrower with two-lanes and an additional center turn lane. One location has a wide median that will need four beacons to adequately alert drivers of the pedestrian crossing. The City plans to utilize local agency forces to perform the design and construction. There are six locations that we are looking at: -4 beacons at the Fryelands Blvd YMCA crossing -4 beacons at Fryelands Blvd & 146th -4 beacons at the Main Street Roundabout -4 beacons at North Kelsey Street - Walmart crossing -4 beacons at Main Street - Frank Wagner Crossing -2 beacons at Main Street - Monroe Christian School
