Population is expected to grow substantially when the new wastewater treatment plant is completed and the development moratorium is lifted in the near future. With growth, additional pedestrian and vehicle traffic will be generated, which in turn will generate a greater need for pedestrian safety infrastructure. The City has previously installed RRFBs on Stanley Street, which have been a success, and they desire to expand their safety infrastructure.

Project Benefits
- The installation of the RRFB systems will enhance the safety of each of the four crossings, which in-turn can promote the pedestrian travel through these crossings. Per the Citys Complete Streets ordinance, pedestrian travel reduces negative environmental impacts, promotes healthy living, advances the well-being of travelers, supports the goal of compact development, and meets the needs of the diverse populations that comprise the community which use those main corridor and school routes.
