This project will upgrade pedestrian mobility and accessibility along 66th Ave W and 168th St SW, adjacent to Meadowdale Elementary, Meadowdale Middle School, and the Meadowdale Athletic Complex. Moving on safe and accessible facilities is an important element of Lynnwoods trnasporation network. Improvements include replacing 17 non-ADA compliant curb ramps, upgraded 2 PPBs, repairing approximately 250 feet of sidewalk, and replacing 25 feet of temporary asphalt sidewalk with ADA-compliant concrete to bridge a gap on an ADA route. An ADA crossing will be installed at the intersection of 168th St SW and the middle schools east parking lot entry, which currently lacks a safe crossing. These corridors serve as School Safe Walk Routes and experience significant pedestrian traffic from students attending school, families, and community members attending year-round athletic events. The projects upgrades will enhance safety, accessibility, and connectivity for all users.

Project Description
The project includes 17 ADA ramp upgrades, 1 new ADA ramp, 2 PPB upgrades, and approximately 200 feet of sidewalk repair and 25 feet of sidewalk replacement.
Existing Condition
Project Benefits
- This project includes ADA ramp retrofits, sidewalk discontinuity repairs and replacements, ADA sidewalk installations, and pedestrian push button (PPB) upgrades. It directly supports the Citys commitment to improving accessibility, safety, and mobility for all users especially non-motorized travelers by enhancing infrastructure near three key community destinations: Meadowdale Elementary School, Meadowdale Middle School, and the Meadowdale Athletic Complex. These locations serve a large number of residents, including school children, families, and seniors, and are heavily trafficked year-round for education, recreation, and community events. The existing pedestrian facilities are outdated, non-compliant, or incomplete, creating barriers for individuals with disabilities and limiting safe access. By incorporating Complete Streets elements such as ADA-compliant ramps, continuous sidewalks, and upgraded pedestrian signals this project ensures equitable access, promotes walkability, and strengthens neighborhood connectivity. It responds directly to community-identified needs for safer routes to schools and parks, and supports broader goals of the City of Lynnwood to allow all residents to move on safe and accessible facilities.
