Project Description

The project will provide curb, gutter, and ADA-compliant ramps, and tie into existing facilities at the north approach crossing from Contra Costa Ave (E-W) and the west approach crossing of Electron Way (N-S). The project will replace very dated and out-of-compliance curb ramps to serve people of all ages and abilities with accessible crossing locations. These improvements provide a direct connection to nonmotorized improvements funded by legislative capital appropriations to install new curb ramps serving the south approach crossing from Contra Costa Ave (E-W) and the east approach crossing of Electron Way (N-S), with an RRFB to improve pedestrian safety. The legislative funding only replaces half of the out-of-compliant curb ramps, which makes it difficult to tie into new facilities with existing facilities while meeting ADA standards.
