The current condition of the area along A Street and 1st Street is less than desirable with missing, cracked, and lifted sidewalk facilities and non ADA compliant ramps and crossings.

Project Description
Reconstruction of the pedestrian ramps and sidewalks on A St/1 St. In addition, a new multi-use path will be constructed on 1st St from the central business district to the school.
Existing Condition
Project Benefits
- The existing condition of the pedestrian facilities are not up to standards and provide unsafe conditions. Reconstructing a number of the ramps in the area will improve safety, making sidewalks usable for more people and ensure continuous uninterrupted travel for pedestrians. Repairing the sidewalks in needed locations ensure that pedestrians have smooth unobstructed surfaces and that they use the provided walkways for a buffer between them and vehicles. The proposed multi-use path will create a safe space for walking and biking and it will provide connectivity to frequented areas like the school and downtown business district, enhancing overall mobility for more groups of people.
