Project Description

The following solutions are being proposed with this projectIn-fill sidewalk improvements to provide continuous sidewalk on both sides of the streetBuffered / protected bike lanesMarked Crosswalks w/ Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB) with pedestrian scale lighting at school bus stop locations near NE 177th, 179th and 182nd StreetsPosted Speed Reduction from 35 to 30 MPH and traffic calming measures including chicane islands to slow motor vehicle trafficCurb extensions/bulb-outs with reduced curb radii and improved ADA ramps to provide meet ADA guidelines and to enhanced pedestrian access / visibility and lessened crossing distances Green bike lane markings and bike box at SR522 allowing bicycles to jump queued vehicles and cross the highway safely to access the Burke Gilman Trail andAdditional signage and pedestrian lighting as needed to enhance visibility and awareness.
