Project Description

This project will deliver the following improvements 1. Enhanced roadway capacity and intersection efficiency, including Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), to improve mobility for vehicles, transit, and freight. 2. Completion of the bike network with protected bicycle lanes connecting King Countys RegionalSammamish River/Burke-Gilman Trail to Snohomish Countys Regional North Creek Trail. 3. Expansion of the sidewalk network to accommodate pedestrian growth and improve access to transit and active transportation throughout the corridor. 4. Increased capacity to support Community Transits SWIFT Green Line expansion (Bus Rapid Transit from Downtown Bothell/University of Bothell/Cascadia College to Canyon Park) and connections to Sound Transits SR 522 and I-405 Bus Rapid Transit systems, and other local transit services. 5. Safety improvements including enhanced vehicular sight distance, separation of non-motorized users from vehicle traffic, installation of combination medians/left-turn lanes to manage access, and improved street lighting.6. Improves connections between the downtown Central Business District, Canyon Park Regional Growth Center, and Urban Activity Center at 240th St SE.
