Kentucky Ave, Wallace Street, and Union Street are all part of the original downtown, so the asphalt is typically 2 to 3 inches thick (or less), has excessive cracks, and is getting to the end of its useful life. Most of these segments have been crack sealed in the last two years and the City will pay for any additional crack sealing needed during construction.
