Existing Conditions

Pedestrian safety is of concern as a retirement community exists on the corner of 2nd St and Crystal Ave and the existing sidewalks on the east side are spalled, broken and non-existent; trip hazards abound on both east and west sidewalks; and No ADA access at the intersections of Main Ave 2nd St and 2nd St Crystal Ave for the senior residents to use to access LaCrosses central business district. The central business district includes the towns grocery store, USPS, Town Hall, and other businesses.

Description of Improvements

This project will 1.) replace cracked, heaved and non-existent sidewalks on the east side of 2nd St from Main Ave to Crystal St and provide ADA compliant access at the intersection of 2nd St and Crystal Ave; 2.) replace and install new ADA compliant access at the intersection of Main St and 2nd St; and 3.) replace cracked and heaved sidewalk panels along the west side of 2nd St which are a trip hazard.
