Existing Conditions

The City of Palouse identified the need for a dedicated sidewalk from the intersection at Cove Road (HWY 66) to the HWY 27 vehicle/pedestrian bridge that is used to transport vehicles and pedestrians across the Palouse River to downtown. Pedestrians currently use roadway shoulders to access downtown from residential areas. Additional needs exist to connect the Cove Road Sidewalk (Fall 2021 completion) with the Lions Club RV campground, Nature Park, pool, and business district. Pedestrian crossing visibility is also an identified concern.
