Existing ConditionsRoad supplying the majority of the local residents access to the Citys only large grocery store. Residents access Safeway from N. 1st. Street W. as opposed to US 395 mostly due to the traffic on the highway. This road is almost completely deteriorated and beyond any type of patching repair. This is solely due to the traffic and age of the existing pavement. The sidewalks along the route are in fair shape with areas in need of replacement, several heaved areas, cracked buckled sidewalks exist. These sidewalks are mostly used by the middle school children that walk from the middle school to Safeway and back during lunch so the children/teen traffic on the sidewalks is high. |

The City wishes to remove the existing pavement from curb to curb, perform full depth reclamation w/ cement base on the gravel and subgrade, and repave the road. For the sidewalks, the City wishes to remove 4 sections of sidewalk where problem areas exist and replace them in like and kind. Areas of curb replacement are also needed as the existing curb has deteriorated beyond repair or have moved into the roadway prism.
