Existing ConditionsByars Street serves as a direct route from Mill Street to North Columbus Avenue. The Klickitat County Fairgrounds and the towns only hardware store are located on Mill Street. This is the primary route for residents north of town to access these facilities. Intersections at Byars and High and Byars and Mill have line of sight limitations |

The roadway will be excavated with a portion of the excavation used to fill the south edge of the roadway./ The ditch on the north side will be filled and drain pipe installed to keep the ditch dry and therby keeping the roadway dry. Most of the road failure is on the north side of the road from this drainage issue. Line of sight will be improved for the interesections by excavating and installing a retaining wall in this area.
