Existing ConditionsWeber Road within the project area is a paved two-lane road with a sidewalk along the north side and serves as an unofficial truck route into town from I-90. Gabreath Way experiences heavy traffic from the I-90 off ramp, particularly from travelers stopping at the gas stations and restuarants. Both roadways exhibit extensive alligator cracking, as well as longitudinal and transverse cracking. Pumping of Weber Road was observed in spring 2017 due to traffic loading. Galbreath Way tees into Weber Road between the two gas stations. Sidewalks is not currently present along Galbreath Way. This is a high traffic area without pedestrian safety provided by sidewalks. |

The project proposes the full depth recycle of the existing roadways with cement treated base, and 5 inches of HMA. Proposed work on Galbreath Way will extend approximately 430 feet south of Weber Road. Curb and sidewalk will be constructed along the west side of Galbreath Way and will include a bio-infiltration swale to accomodate an existing drywell, as well a curb ramp across Weber Road. Sidewalk improvements on Galbreath Way will include a crosswalk and ADA ramps to cross to the north side of Weber Road and tie into the existing sidewalk system. The City plans to eventually extend sidewalk further down Galbreath Way as development occurs and/or funding allows.
