Existing ConditionsThis project improves a section of road that provides vehicular and pedestrian connection to the city's schools. NE 4th Ave is in need of resurfacing, drainage improvements, and does not provide pedestrian connection between the schools and E. Stella Street which is a primary route used by children. Additionally the crossing at E. Park Street and E. 2nd Ave is a heavily used pedestrian crossing on the primary north-south street in the City. |

The project proposes the construction of sidewalk, ADA ramps, curb and gutter, striping, and drainage improvements on the west side of NE 4th Ave between E Park Street and E Stella Street. The project proposed a full depth reclamation process for the existing street to minimize export and reinforce the subgrade due to bus traffic. At the intersection of E Park Street and E. 2nd Ave flashing pedestrian activated signs (solar powered) will be installed.
