Region: East | Legislative District: 7 | Length: 0.17 mi. | FY 2021 Small City Arterial Program (SCAP) |
Existing ConditionsThe City experiences delays at the intersection of Crawford and Colville Avenue especially during AM/PM peak times due to heavy E/W and N/S vehicle movements, and has been documented in 2013 Study and 2018 update, and forcasts further reduction in Level of Service (LOS) into the future. A LOS of D is sometimes experienced during peak travel time. The completion of a project to install a single lane roundabout with associated roadway upgrade to the North under separate project will provide an improved roadway LOS and pedestrian improvements including cross walks for school bus stops. |

The completion of the project will provide a single lane roundabout which will provide significant improvement in delay time and safety, with a projected LOS "A" for Crawford Avenue and a LOS "B" for the minor street of N/S Colville Avenue. The reconstruction of the intersection and roadway North under separate schedule is intened to provide safer roadways for bicycles who share the roadway and also provide bugger to the sidewalks proposed from the vehicle lanes. The route is a school bus corridor with several school bus routes traveling the congested area on a daily basis and also is a walk route for students of the Deer Park Middle School during the school year.
