Existing Conditions

This project is targeted at addressing a section of the City of Hoquiams pedestrian and bicycle network. A significant accident occurred with a motorist and cyclist near the limits of this project in the last year. Additionally, safer routes to the nearby Emerson Elementary School have been desired for some time by residents of the city. These motives have prompted the design of this project for the improved bicycle and pedestrian facilities to provide safer access to the school. Furthermore, the proposed improvements inhibit the possibility for future accidents with cyclist, motorist, and pedestrian traffic.
