Existing Conditions

There is a documented safety issue at the Foothills Trail crossing at Main Street. There has been two documented bicycle/ped -vs- vehicle accidents at this crossing since 2019. The marked crossing is mid-block on a skew. There are some sight distance issues for vehicles traveling northbound on SR-410 and talking a right-hand turn to head eastbound on Main.

Description of Improvements

This project will construct a refuge island and curb bulbs which will narrow the crossing distance that trail users are exposed to vehicle traffic and traffic calming. Improved signage will enhance the visibility of the crossing.
